About the name
My wife is Huny, and Gunny rhymed. I retired a MSgt, but the grandkids listen about as good as a week-one poolee, so Gunny it is.
After the Corps
I retired from Division Headquarters after a career spent fixing whatever breaks, packing for what hasn't broken yet, and inspecting gear for how it'll serve us in theater.
These days my theater is 36 holes at JBSA, where I'm training for the superintendent job. So when I tell you a course is worth your port day, you know I'm reading it from the maintenance and pro side, not the scorecard.
The rest of him
God. Family. Country.
In that order, and I won't apologize for it. A man of faith who'll tell you so if you ask.
Dad. Granddad. A certified coffee snob, unrepentant. Partial to a good cigar on the back porch and to Texas A&M football on a Saturday. Gig ’em. Keeper of a dad joke stockpile that has never once run low, and a stash of mandatory fun shirts to keep my fellow Marines smiling while we're on float.
On vacation, my wife calls me the Mayor, and that's why we're still filming.
Behind the camera
Nikki shoots, directs, and edits. Twenty years in healthcare sales taught her to spot the polished version of an answer, which is mostly why these videos don't have one.
She stays out of frame on purpose. A recovering extrovert and an artistic creator, she flexes in the real, raw moments of life.
Standing order
Every gifted product, comped trip, and paid partnership gets disclosed out loud on camera and in writing. A brand can pay for his time. Nobody can pay for the mark.
